Please welcome Professor Kieran Sheahan as the new ICCR Vice-President

The International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR) would like to welcome Professor Kieran Sheahan as the new ICCR Vice-President.
Professor Sheahan has contributed to the work of the ICCR as a Councillor and Board member since 2018. He was also a member of the ICCR Dataset Authoring Committees for the colorectal cancer and colorectal polyp cancer datasets.
Professor Sheahan was a lead in developing the National Histopathology Quality Improvement Programme in Ireland in 2009 which included standardisation of cancer reporting. He has numerous collaborations internationally and over 200 original publications in peer-reviewed biomedical journals and has authored multiple reviews and book chapters. His research interests include prognostic and predictive markers in colorectal cancer, familial colorectal cancer, in particular Lynch Syndrome, the pathology of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and the application of molecular genetic techniques and AI in colorectal pathology. Professor Sheahan brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the position of ICCR Vice-President. The ICCR looks forward to Professor Sheahan’s ongoing support in this role to contribute to the continued success of the ICCR.
